The best way to expand or improve an article is to generate much more than you would ever need to put into it. Unfortunately publishing tools often work against this process.
Federated wiki has different strengths than publication tools. It is a tool for inquiry. Loose ends are left out to follow. Divergence and exploration is encouraged. Content and understanding is privileged over presentation.
It occurs to us that tools for inquiry and tools for publishing might be complementary. So in the spirit of the Happenings, we're going to try an experiment.
## Find your article
Each Pod Leader will find an article in Wikipedia they would like to expand.
We'd encourage Pod Leaders to choose an article where they have some knowledge of the topic but would enjoy learning more.
Maybe you take a well-developed page, like Object-oriented ontology, and you'd like to edit it for readability, but you need to know more about the subject to do that. wikipedia 
In this case you may end up creating dozens of federated wiki pages just to revise some sentences to flow a bit better. But that's OK!
Maybe you decide you'd like to develop an underdeveloped page on Gaye Advert, one of the first female punk bassists. wikipedia
In this case you'll probably generate lots of odd facts and research and listen to some horrible-in-retrospect Adverts tunes, and then whittle it down to some new additions to the article. This is OK too!
Or maybe in both cases the research brings you to entirely new topics which you find are not well represented in Wikipedia. Maybe you find out stuff about The Roxy in your Gaye Advert investigation that should make its way into that article, or find that a thinker associated with Object-Oriented Ontology needs her own page.
What I'll say, having worked in federated wiki quite a bit and with happenings quite a bit is that if you put in the time and follow the loose ends of each page, you'll have something at the end that is worth adding. And often, something relatively original to offer. Somehow it all works out in the end.
